I'm a mid 40's west coast Rec. diver (PADI - AOW, EANx) working towards my RD in the fall. All my dives have been coldwater (I don't want to dive tropical so I won't know what I'm missing :( ). One of my childhood dreams was to dive (thank you Jacque Cousteau) and the other was to build underwater research stations and submarines...

anyone got any ballast tanks handy?

Dale.

Thanks all!
The water was an absolutely balmy 52F last week. In the Howe sound we get summer run off silt and algae blooms that can create zero vis diving for the first 30' to 40' or so. Just close your eyes and drop through it! I've even done some training dives where the total vis for the whole dive was only 5' or so.
Having said that, we do have a lot to look at down there and I'm lucky to have found a good core group of divers to dive/train with.

welcome aboard
