Hi All,

My name is Lance Robb and I am from Cairns, Australia. I operate a dive business specialising in Closed Circuit Rebreathers and Technical Diver Training and I also organise and run dive trips mostly to Asia diving wrecks and searching for new ones.

My diving passion is deep wreck diving and I have now dived some incredible wrecks ranging from Battleships to small freighters still laden with their cargo. My background is I am an ex Royal Australian Navy Marine Engineer so the first place you will find me will be inside the engine room or boiler room checking out the machinery.

I find the history of each wreck particularly interesting and I get a great deal of enjoyment spending hours researching the wrecks to trying and uncover the story behind the ships and their crews.

Our next trip is heading off into the Gulf of Thailand to search for 3 previously undived Japanese Freighters sunk by the US Submarine USS Hammerhead and the Dutch Submarine the O-19. We plan to dive the USS Lagarto, Tottori Maru and the drilling ship Seacrest during the trip. These 3 wrecks have amazing stories and diving them is an incredible experience and one which will stay with you for many years. The trip leaves from Koh Samui in mid May and will be an unforgettable one.

Drop me a message and say hi or let me know if you're up for some amazing wreck diving.

I look forward to diving with some of you in the near future.

Regards,

Lance

Welcome to ScubaBoard, Lance. I had the pleasure of spending time in Cairns back in 2001. Liked the city and the diving so much I even considered buying a 2 BR bungalow there so I could spend half my time in Cairns and half here on Catalina... endless summer diving!

Welcome to :sblogo:

Definitely post in the Wreck forum. You will find alot of divers that are interested in what you have discovered! Best of luck on your upcoming expeditions!

So you know the location of Lagarto? Because I know that's a pretty closely guarded secret. If you do I hope you treat the wreck with the respect it deserves since it is a War Grave.

Hi Manty,

Absolutely........There will be nothing touched whatsoever. The guys we will be diving with were the ones who originally found her and they have given their word to fiercely guard her.

Regards,

Lance

Thanks, I am sure we will have a fantastic time. Jamie and Stu are good guys and I have been diving with them on a number of occasions.

I have researched some of the history of the Lagarto and her crew and she certainly will live on, more so now that a privileged few of us can go down and visit her in resting place.

I hope to bring some pictures of her back and will be happy to put them up if you are interested.

Regards,

Lance
