Hello all,

After surfing posts and reading all the great advice for the past month, I decided to register. I'm currently an undergraduate at the University of Florida, and plan to go to graduate school to study coral reef ecology.

It's great to see so many people who love diving, and I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Wonderful. What's your opinion of certifications for scientific diving? I'm currently certified as a NAUI Master Diver (essentially equivalent to advanced open water). I'd be looking at dives from 40 to 20 feet doing quantitative surveys and transects.

I went to San Salvador, Bahamas for a class on Tropical Marine Ecology in March 2009; and now I will never be satisfied with any other career. Plus, diving will be a necessity :D

Happy to get to know all of you, and Go Gators!
