Hey all,

Just wanted to introduce myself and
drop a line to see if I could fine any fellow divers in Indiana.
I am not only new to the board but also Indy and I was hoping to get out and meet some new people. I just got my OW in Feb of this year so guess I am a newbie to everything:confused:
(Just a little tip...I don't know **** about **** but I have an opinion on everything...I should fit in just fine :D)

Safe diving!

I used to live in Indianapolis. Moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL since then. There's always plenty of people in scubaboard from Indiana who are on this board. If you havn't done Gilboa quarry in Ohio (http://www.divegilboa.com/) that's a midwest dive favorite. Also I setup a yahoo group a while back at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Indy-Scuba

There's also another yahoo group: kentuckianascubadivers, which is a lot of e-divers, but there are also several that dive frequently at the various quarries around the Midwest. All of the more "local" yahoo lists have members of all experience levels that are usually very happy to dive with newer divers. Indy has a good foundation of "mentors" who are very generous with their time and skills.

Stop by each of the local dive shops around Indy and introduce yourself. They each should have some sort of dive buddy list, experience dives, dive club affiliations, various types of dive trips. Since you're a newly certified diver check into taking additional classes. That usually a great way to gain dive buddies in the area.

BTW - the ScubaQuestDiveTeam is meeting this Thursday (May 29th) at Claude & Annie's in Fishers - 141st at St Rd 37. Meeting starts at 7:30pm in the back room (that is IF they remembered to reserve it :) Several members are heading up to Gilboa this weekend for the DUI Demo Days and the DIR Demo by Mike Kane. I'd imagine there will be several folks from the area's other dive shops heading up there, too.

Believe it or not, but there's almost always somebody diving at Blue Springs regardless of weather conditions or time of year. (Drysuits are a major bonus to pulling that off!)
