I am getting back into diving after a few years hiatus. Now that my three daughters are certified or will be shortly, it looks like I will be diving a lot more! We are travelling to Puerto Rico in a few weeks, so would welcome any suggestions on where to dive.

My youngest (16) will have to complete her SDI open water certification while we are there - she will complete the online and pool parts before we leave. So I really need a suggestion for a shop that will help her get her four dives completed. We are staying near San Juan in a condo and arrive on a Saturday. My oldest daughter (21) and her boy friend are with us and are also divers from Puget Sound, so I need a fourth for our PR vacation!

Thanks,

Mark

My wife is also a PADI diver, but she prefers shopping to diving.....dive trips can become very expensive!

Get a Universal Referral as I don't think you'll find an SDI shop on mainland Puerto Rico.
If she hasn't started, you might have her get PADI certified instead.

If you did want to stay with SDI, Ocean Sports is a SSI/PDIC shop - either of them work within the referral program. They're also on Isla Verde so somewhat convenient if your condo is nearby. And have two other shops in San Juan. http://osdivers.com/

There's a shallow dive just off San Juan that the local shops use for check out dives. Here's a link to one of them: Escambron Marine Park
