Hi everybody. I'm Eric and I just got my Advanced Open Water certification today. I've been on 16 dives since in got my open water certification in February (pics at http://scuba.ericpuryear.com ). I figured I should join since I've been reading this forum for a while.

Also, if anyone in the Chicago area needs a dive buddy, let me know :)

Welcome to the underwater world! I see from your website that you've already made the pilgrimage to Bonne Terre and have been somewhere warm and salty - a very good start for a new diver. I'm in and out of Chicago (and the water) this summer but if you ever find yourself needing a buddy, there are a number of dive clubs and groups in the area that can be an excellent place to look. Two of my favorites are the Underwater Archaeological Society of Chicago www.chicagosite.org/uasc.htm and the Tritons www.thetritons.com - and there are many more. Hope to see you on the dock soon.

Greetings Eric! My wife and I are in the NW burbs, and have been diving for a few years now. We just completed Master Scuba Diver in Belize 2 weeks ago. Wife may need to take some time away from diving for a year or so. I would imagine you could find a way to talk me into diving with you. :D Send me a PM sometime!

Congrats on AOW, and keep on learning!

Greetings from one Eric to another :)

Welcome to ScubaBoard.

I guess you've found our New-Divers forum? I wish I'd found that when I had only a few dives, but then - I was afraid of computers then. :silly:

PM me if I can help you find anything around here...

:zorros: don

Hi Eric and welcome to SB. Great place to talk scuba and meet up with other divers.
Welcome aboard.
David

btw: you guys got a pretty cool state flag.

Thanks for the nice welcome.

I just bought my first regulator (Sherwood Blizzard) and I'm going to Haigh Quarry to try it out tomorrow. I could sure use a dive buddy if anyone is interested in going :)
