This is my first post and I hope I'm doing this correctly. I have been looking around the ScubaBoard and it looks very interesting. I've been diving for for about 48 years and in the SCUBA business for about 25 years, including everything from instructor course director to commercial underwater photography, patenting scuba inventions, manufacturing and selling scuba equipment to diveshops, to divers in this country and also exporting. So that's my background.
My special interests are photography and dangerous marine life. By that I don't mean diving with questionable air, I mean things like sea snakes, cone shells and such.
I have noticed today the first message I saw was some company offering to sell year old steel tanks at a discount. I'm aware that as a new member to post a first message I need to be careful not to break any rules that I don't understand.
So I'll ask if anyone would be kind enough to tell me if there is some proper way for me to offer current year, fresh hydro steel tanks at a better deal. That's because I am in the scuba business.
Also, I would be very interested in finding out who is using advanced digital cameras now for underwater photography and what you consider the current state of the art. I have used all kinds of medium format film cameras underwater and still own what may be classic equipment, but the digital advances are occurring so quickly its difficult to determine what equipment is worth investing in that won't be obsolete next year.
Please answer this newby if you will.
Thank you.

Welcome to the board!

Hi double-hose aand welcome to ScubaBoard. In answer to your question you may offer stuff for sale in any of the Market Place forums. For instance:
http://www.scubaboard.com/forumdisplay.php?f=220

Apart from the general market place forums there are also local market place subforums under the different club forums.
(for the full FAQ about the Market place and links to the rules etc please see:
http://www.scubaboard.com/faq.php?faq=market_place_faq#faq_new_faq_item)

As far as the photo question goes check out:
http://www.scubaboard.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3

you should be able to find a lot of answers in there.

I'm sure you'll be an asset to the board, and if you goof - don't worry. Our Mods are pretty nice. We certainly have Market Place forums. Post your tanks in the same forum you saw the others.

It doesn't matter which digital you get, as it will be obsolete next year. :D There are some excellent advisory stickies on that forum...
