When did the board start, anyway? I found it researching the PADI v. Diverlink suit that ended so horribly for PADI.

Well boys, I took on law partners and, get this, they wanted me to work!!
No more happy hours on ScubaBoard fighting over PADI and DIR. So I've
been slaving away waiting for the Social Security to kick in. In February
I'm off to the Keys for a month of diving around Marathon. Is it my imagination
or is SB a calmer, more professional site than before? Everyone seems so...
...polite. It's not the Scuba Frontier anymore is it? Flaming gunslingers ready
to gun down someone over the length of their air hose.
Well, it's nice to be back and nice to find some old timers.

Your perspective on the "niceness" of SB is interesting, particularly in view of some recent threads bemoaning the "nastiness" of the place.
