We are new to the boards here and wanted to say hello.
We are a couple in the Chicagoland area who are new to diving. Greg was originally certified in college was back in 1988, and Marie is just going through the OW certification right now.
Though land locked here in Illinois, we do have trips planned to Cozumel in Feb and March, and are quite excited to get diving.
WELCOME!
Don't think of Chicago,or Naperville as land locked, or unfreindly to diving. I'm sure you have heard of Pearl Lake near Rockford, or Haige quarry near Kankakee. There's also a lot of diving available in Lake Michigan, day trips to Bonne Terre mine's in MO.,as well as Meremet Springs in southern Illinois.
I'm sure you'll enjoy Cozumel. My wife also was recently certified, classwork in the US but O-W dives were done in Puerto Galera in the Philippines.
The main thing is to DIVE-DIVE-DIVE.
Have fun!
No, we fully realize Chicago is not landlocked. We have the lakes and we had also heard of Haige quarry. So this is no where near locked.... hell, I grew up in CO - it had much less opportunity for diving.
I've in Fort Lauderdale today - been driving and diving the Overseas Hiway from Key Largo to Key West with some others from ScubaBoard.com for the last week, but wanted to say "hi there.
