I am seeking a little advice. I have an IST 2-pc wetsuit and I hate it. It is so stiff. I am looking into getting a one piece wet suit. Does anyone have or now anything about the Henderson 7-mm hyper stretch wetsuit? Is it a good wet suit? I tried one on at a dive store in San Diego and I like the way it fit. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Great news for vacation divers who cannot talk themselves into buying a personal CO tank tester!

Now let's see more CO readings in your trip reports, ok...??
Welcome to ScubaBoard! I have the one-piece Tilos 7/mm Superstretch. I've used it to shore dive and dive the wrecks in San Diego no problemo. I saw from your dive history that you are diving mostly in Southern Cal. You are invited to join us So Cal California Kelp Divers for diving and a beach BBQ at La Jolla Shores January 14. It would be a great time to check out everybody's exposure suits and ask questions. Click here for info:

Mike,
I picked one up in May of 05 and have about 50 dives on it in New England. I don't think I would buy anything else. The fit and finish of the suit are excellent.

You're talking about the one piece jump suit, right?

My son and I both own Henderson Titanium Hyperstretch 7/5mm jumpsuits for local diving. As an avid waterman, I've owned numerous wetsuits over the years. I usually own half a dozen of various styles/brands at any given time.
The Hyperstretch material is one of the most stretchy and flexible wetsuit materials that I've encountered. It rivals some the ultra flexible surfing counterparts that I own, like the RipCurl Ultimate Elasto 2. It is by far one of the most comfortable and flexible 7mm wetsuits that I've ever owned. Because the material is so stretchy, you may be able downsize to get a very nice snug yet non-restrictive fit ... which is what you want.
The only real complaints that I have about the Henderson Hyperstretch wetsuits are regarding durability. Specifically, the stitching on the seams appears to be prone to unraveling. I've also encountered this on other Henderson products. IMHO, it's definitely a weakness in their construction style. Also, the Hyperstretch outer skin material appears to be very prone to snagging and pilling ... Velcro absolutely destroys the material. We have approx 6 mos and 30 dives on ours. They both show evidence of wear ... especially my kid's. I've already had to do some maintenance to address stitching and pilling problems on both suits.
So far, the fit and comfort advantages outweigh the durability issues. I may feel differently, however, in another year or two ;-)
