Hi everyone! Just thought I would introduce myself even though I'm just about as much of a newbie as you can get...took my first DSD dive in Maturi Bay (near the Rainbow Warrior wreck) off the northern coast of New Zealand. Was completely hooked and am now planning to do my OW certification as soon as I get the chance, which will be in about a month after I get finished traveling around.
I'm originally from NYC but have been living in Auckland since September '06 and am moving to Wellington in a few weeks where I'll be doing my PADI certification course. Have a feeling it'll be a little chilly down there but oh well, it's good training I guess, lol. I've wanted to try scuba diving for as long as I can remember and since New Zealand happens to be the country with the largest number of certified divers per capita in the world, I figured I was in the right place!
If you haven't yet, click Forums above and start going thru the list - looking for those of interest to you, especially your local dive club. Always good to try a Search before starting a new thread, tho - click here for Search help, and be careful about posting Threads & Replies before reading the Sticky threads at the tops of most forums. PM me if I can help you around here..
