Hi all, just recently joined this forum to hopefully get my question answered!
Each year, for my birthday, we like to travel to a diving location for a week or two, however this so happens that its in september....not always advised as the ideal time to dive in certain parts of the world.
Was wondering if someone could recommend dive sites which they know of or have been to that are decent during this period.
We went to Egypt last year which visibility was v good, but many of us suffered from severe nausea onboard due to massive waves rocking the boat!!! Was not pleasant!
Hi France welcome
I suggest you go down to the regional travel and dive club forums pick some places you might like to go maybe Thailand, Bonaire or wherever and do a search on September - very likely to be good info.
I can really recommend PNG in September, but a long way from London. Trip report here and photos here.
Actually, Bonaire would be a great place (though I'm prejudice...I live here). But seriously, we are outside of the hurricane belt, so no worries to bad weather. KLM flies into Bonaire daily so I don't think you will have a problem getting here.

Any where in the Caribbean or the Florida Keys is great in September. For example, the water temperature off Key Largo will probably be around 88F/30C. Of course, you are playing roulette with hurricanes but keep in mind the hurricanes only actually hit a few places each year. My advice is book your trip, buy trip insurance if you're concerned about storms, go and enjoy. My diving photos are organized in galaries at www.octoeight.smugmug.com; might give you some ideas about places to go.
The coral spawning is going to occur in the second half of September. I'm going with an expert on coral reefs, and if anyone knows when the spawning is supposed to happen, it's him. See you there!
It does help with discussions if you complete your Profile. And it's even more fun when you load an Avatar (personal pic for each post) and a Profile pic. See UserCP above to access these if you'd like to...?
If you haven't yet, click Forums above and start going thru the list - looking for those of interest to you, especially your local dive club. Always good to try a Search before starting a new thread, tho - click here for Search help, and be careful about posting Threads & Replies before reading the Sticky threads at the tops of most forums. PM me if I can help you around here..
Great news for vacation divers who cannot talk themselves into buying a personal CO tank tester!
>> Rent one for a week or longer here <<
Now let's see more CO readings in your trip reports, ok...??
