Extremely new to the diving world, about a month or so. My girlfriend has been certified for about 6 years. We are doing our first dive together this month and I can't wait. We are actually diving at Epcot (Disney) we both hear it's a great place to go and see a large variety of marine life.

Welcome and if you are in the orlando area there are several clubs who dive frequently. I am in one of them.

Epcot is a cool dive and a cool experience to boot.

Welcome. But I've got to ask, diving in Epcot? Isn't that the place with the roller coasters? Do you have a link (going in October - sounds like it might be more interesting than I thought....).

Welcome to the 'Board! Are you in central Florida, or just heading there for some dives at Epcot? If you ever head up to the panhandle, let me know and we'll hit some of the local water holes.

WELCOME TO :sblogo:
Definitely enjoy all that Florida has to offer! There are so many places to dive!

Happy diving!

Hi all. New to the board as well. Also just getting back into diving.

agonzalez, I dove Epcot several years ago... it was terrific. Very unique experience.

Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Welcome to the board!

Here are some tips to make your time at Scubaboard a fantastic experience:

1. Fill out your profile. This lets us get to know you! Who knows, maybe there are others out there who share your love of underwater basket weaving!

2. Check out the forum on Scubaboard that is specific to your geographical location.

3. Don't hesitate to ask any dive-related questions you may have. There WILL be someone here who knows the answer. There also may be people who are sarcastic or attempt to make you feel silly for asking questions. Keep in mind that Scubaboard is like a salad bar. Take what you like and leave the rest!

4. When available, really get involved IN PERSON. Several of us regularly attend local functions where we dive and dine together. It really does enhance your Scubaboard experience!

Welcome!

Try this link:
Walt Disney World - Epcot Dive Quest

Or, Google "disney dive quest"

Quote from the site:
"Prepare for a totally unique diving experience! The Seas with Nemo & Friends features a 6-million-gallon indoor aquarium with more than 65 species of marine life, including sharks, huge sea turtles, playful eagle rays and schools of colorful tropical fish. With guaranteed calm seas, no current and unlimited visibility, your quest for the dive of a lifetime ends here. "

It was interesting... when I dove it, they removed the dolphins first, but left the sharks. Don't know if they still have dolphins, but they were more worried about injuries from them than the sharks. They had two brown sharks when I was there, and several turtles and rays. I enjoyed watching the rays, they would "fly" from one end of the tank to another.

The sea life is really neat, but I got the biggest kick from the spectators. That's what makes the dive so fun. My favorite part was laying on the glass on top of the tunnel. There is a tunnel that runs through the aquarium and has a slow moving ride that passes through it. I was great fun waving at folks passing by.
