Hi everybody,

May I introduce myself a bit:

I'm Austrian, from good ol' Vienna, its capital city. Male, and -ahem - middle aged

I started diving about 15 years ago in Fiji (I was residing for about a decade there). However, I wasn't certified at that time, self taught and using some old U.S. Navy tables. No BCD, no alternate air source...

Yes, quite stupid - I agree. Well, I was a bit younger at that time, and wasn't really aware of the risks involved. In these years I made about 600-700 dives, a few of them gave me slight symptoms of DCS (as I know now).

New chapter:

After some years back in Vienna I came for vacation to Thailand. Got interested in diving again - but this time the right way: finally I got an OWD brevet

Then a dive base owner offered me a deal - working for him and in exchange I will get training up to instructor.

Well, here I am now, just a few weeks later after my passed IE exam, with about 300 logged dives under my (weight)belt, and - as my CD told me, the sky looks definetely bluer than before

welcome aboard

I'm in Ao Nang - that's near Krabi Town.

Welcome and congrats!

I'd love to dive around the world but I will be happy with what's here in Florida.
