Old diver back in the game... Hello

Hello all,
Been a diver in British Columbia for many years but have been away from the sport for a while. Have a business trip planned for Sidney Australia in the near future. Though I would get wet again in Austrailian waters. I realize that Sidney is a quite a distance from the barrier reef. With 3-4 days of spare time is it doable or is there other areas close by where the diving is as good? How about charters outfits that are realiable? Any Aussi info would be much appreciated. Thanks for all your help
