If you're looking for new gear, good timing ... the Underwater Sports annual Diver's Fair starts today at their Seattle location and runs through Sunday.
Life is short. Break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love deeply, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that makes you smile.
Not everyone who reads SB is looking to learn how best to use their new snorkel. Some are here just hoping to get the chance to tell someone else exactly what they can do with their new snorkel. While others are trying to sell their old snorkel. (gypsyjim)
There are also very good deals on new gear from other local dealers -- if you are looking for new gear.
The key is to get gear that fits you and your diving style -- not what someone has on sale. As a new diver who learned in the tropics you learned one style of diving but if you intend to dive locally, you'll probably find you need to learn a perhaps different "style" of diving. Local diving (Puget Sound) is much colder, darker and with a lot less visibility -- but with a lot more life and fascinating critters.
Both NWGrateful Diver (above) and I would be happy to discuss by PM or email various options for you to consider if you want to buy new gear. (Not to be secretive, but sometimes non-public writings might give you a clearer idea of where shopping might be the best for you.)
Do what Bob said. Come to our Diver's Fair this weekend. We're giving away over $50k worth of trips and gear. It's a great place to meet other divers, instructors, DMs, and reps from all the big companies.
for sure we get back this weekend so we have plans to go to the fair on sunday, we will be getting only the essential stuff mask and boots etc that need to be custom fitted then we will later look at wetsuits unless they are a great deal at the fair.. as for regulators thinking buying used there, BC will be likely used or sale that can be determined at a later time we want to rent for a while and see what we like as well I need to make sure we like the temp of the water vs here in nice bahama!
Thanks for the info on PM I am for sure looking for local areas thanks again and hope to see you in the pool some day!
Eventually I have aspirations to get SAR Dive as well
