Hello all! My name is Colby. I live in the Village of Rushville (just outside of Lancaster). I'm recently certified as of November and plan on doing a lot more diving in the future. Thank you for creating such a wonderful forum. I have found it to be a wealth of knowledge in my short time here.
Welcome. I am a newbie here myself having signed up this past weekend. I am in Grove City and about to take lesson #3 so I am really new to this! I hope to do my certification dive in Jamaica in February.
You're not far from me Planeguy! Jamaica would be a great place to do your dives as I did mine at Circleville in late November in 49 degree water. Where are you taking your lessons and do you plan on diving around here when the weather warms up?
I am doing my training at Central Ohio School of Diving in Linworth. Having a great time doing it. I get all worked up over the certification dive because testing drives me nuts. I have a boat at Lake Erie so I am hoping to do some diving there around some of the old shipwrecks. Lesson #3 Friday night! Can't wait.
Welcome to SB from another Ohioan. I'm east of you in Belmont County. Check out the Central United States forum and theres a subforum in there "great lakes wrecking crew" where many people from Ohio and Michigan post in and look for buddies. There is also a group on FB Ohio Quarry Divers where there is always someone usually looking for a divebuddy throughout the summer.
Planeguy - Good luck tomorrow. I have a boat as well but I trailer it to various lakes and rivers. I too would love tovist some wrecks up at Erie. I am still in the process of acquiring the rest of my gear so I can dive locally and clean the bottom of my boat on those long weekends in the water.
al248005 - thanks for the info! I'll definitely have to check those out!!
