New to the forum but I have been browsing reading as much as I can on here for the last few weeks. I recently received my AOW here in San Diego, CA. I am looking forward to exploring new dive spots. The only spots I have visited so far are La Jolla Shores many times for OW and AOW class, Yukon, and Ruby E. Looking forward to checking out the kelp forests, Catalina Island, and anything else you can recommend. I am 29/M working professional who is diving on the weekends. Looking for a dive buddy as well. Anyway, glad this board is here. An excellent resource and second opinion to my only other resource my LDS.
You should never have trouble finding buddies here to get wet with. And yes, enjoy your trip to Avalon dive park.....If I can make it, I would have no problem showing you the joys of Casino Point....and I'm sure there are others here that will be diving then too.
I just did a dive at La Jolla Underwater Park 2 days ago...what fun! The seals had their fun with us and the kelp was something else. Definitely different from the Florida reefs I'm used to!
Here's another option in finding a dive buddy for SD local stuff, Power Scuba (aka Scuba Diving in San Diego County) (La Jolla, CA) - Meetup
I havent not dove with the group but a friend that I met on my OW class from Canada was focussed on diving as much as possible before having to go back home..
He had nothing but great things to say about the group & thier functions
Yes...check out Power Scuba for your San Diego dives.....VERY active and friendly meet-up group. When I dive south, they are the connection I use. They have a sub-forum here too: Power Scuba .
Dive on in and enjoy.
