Diver from Minneapolis who wants to become an instructor... advice?

Hey all! I got my open water in December of 2010 in Thailand and haven't had a chance to go diving since I moved back to Minneapolis, MN. I was wondering if anybody new a great place where I could go from what I have now to instructor. I thought about going back to Thailand because of how inexpensive it was and I met a lot of great qualified instructors that worked on the islands, but if anybody knows a place like that somewhere in South America or the Caribbean that is comparable ... I would much rather do that this time around since I haven't checked out that part of the world yet.

    Hi Joanna!

    Welcome to SB!

I'm not sure which certfication you are originally certified with, but you may want to look at Divessi.com. Scuba Schools International stores are around the country and can usually certify you up to the Instructor level, sometimes higher than that!

Once you are on their website you can search to see who may be near you. Once you are an Instructor you can go anywhere around the world and work as an Instructor!

Forgot to tell you, I've never been to Thailand, but Central America region is really nice (Roatan, Cayman Islands, Cozumel, etc.)

    Hope this helps you!
Plan your dive and dive your plan!
