Hello world,

Wife and I got open water certified a year ago in a cold glacial pond in Massachusetts (water temp 40°F/8°C) with limited visibility due to suspended pollen and mud, and thought to ourselves, "What have we gotten into?"

Our first ocean dive in the Somosomo strait off Taveuni in Fiji answered that question: we've gotten ourselves into something incredibly great. Dived for week there, and the bug bit us.

Since then, we've been living in New Zealand, dived the Poor Knights Islands, and skipped the ditch and did a few dives on the Great Barrier Reef.

Currently planning a July trip to Indonesia, looking at Bunaken/Bangka/Lembeh in North Sulawesi. We'll have about a week there. Any advice and feedback greatly appreciated. I've been reading some of the archives, and it seems that people tend to prefer Lembeh? We're less experienced divers, and are probably more interested in coral and fish, but curious about muck diving.

Thanks, yaeg! It's a great addiction to have. So much to see under the sea. Especially as someone who has always had fishtanks and reef tanks as a hobby, it's like swimming in the best "aquarium" of all...
