Painting my spear gun

So i have this spear gun and i want to paint a cammo effect on to it

What paint should i use? Acrylic?

Should i put a marine coat after i painted over it.. will it affect my guns performance?

I've not used any of these, but you might want to consider one of these. Not sure if it will hold up in salt water etc. Do a little research. Process is really neat and lots of videos out there how to do it. Looks like a few different vendors to research and compare.. Linghunt
