Hi,

New to the forums and diving, I'm Dave from New Zealand.

Have recently got into scuba diving, and have just completed my PADI Open Water Cert today (12 May 2013).

I come from a fire and rescue background with experience in firefighting, technical rope rescue, swiftwater rescue and many other disciplines.

Cheers :)

Hi Wingy,

Yes I've heard some good things about the area up there, once experienced and made some new friends I hope to travel all over the world and experience different areas. :)

Dave

Be prepared to sell a kidney to feed your travelling diving addiction once it really kicks in...I did poor knights on the way home from French Polynesia....you dont happen to want to buy a kidney do you? Nice people here and im sure you will find some good dive buddys at home. Have you asked your dive shop where you did your certification about local clubs? Your dive centre may also do trips away too. You are doing the right thing in gaining more experience before you start making plans to dive away - good luck and enjoy :)

Yes, my local dive shop who I did my open water through is great, they do a night dive on thursday evenings, and then every weekend they do local dives, both shore and boat. As far as the kidney goes, I am well aware that this isnt going to be cheap, but will be well worth it :)
