Hello, scubaboard. I'm relatively new to diving, but I love it. I was OW certified 2 yrs ago, and just finished my AOW about 7-8 mos ago. I'm getting ready for my first scuba vacation. 6 days of diving. I'm also bringing my underwater camera rig.

I'm hoping to learn more about diving, great destinations, and maybe some tips on gear.

Howdy and welcome to Scubaboard. :admingreet:

Honestly, leave the camera in the room until you feel very comfortable in the water. I hope you have DAN dive insurance - not the cheapest plan, and the camera is well insured - as it will more likely take a hit. Talk to your home insurance agent, or State Farm has a Personal Articles Policy that is very nice.

I do have a DAN policy.
I did dive with the camera. The pictures aren't great, but it was a decent first effort. I didn't crash any reefs or float away up to the surface without realizing it while fiddling with the camera. It was a great trip!
