I'm interested in testing out some dive equipment in the deep blue sea, though my diving skills are quite novice. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations to go, or things to see, for a newcomer such as myself. Should I consider a proper time of year as well for visibility and temperature? I'm really eager to try out the equipment. Thank you all for your input!

Welcome to Scubaboard :)

If you are associated with Desert Star, just ask Marco Flagg.

Most everyone will agree the Breakwater is one of the best training dive sites around with plenty to see. There are a few dive shops in Monterey, and all offer DM's to assist you into diving our local waters.
