Hi... Have you done any of the chartered rig dives off Galveston?... Been wanting to check into it..
 
Did you think the trips near the rigs was worth it?.. I know it can be hit and miss with what you see sometimes.

It's worth it on most occasions, at least you are diving. Bring a speargun :)
 
I have never spearfished but I am very interested. Is there anyone local that does training or is it one of those things you just got to pickup as you go?..

Get some training, not sure who does it in South Houston. There are rules and regulations to follow such as non-gamefish, certain distances to certain areas, etc. Know what size limits and the like. A lot of those off-shore trips will teach you that as well, just call around different shops.
