My wife and I just completed our Open Water certification on Sunday the 8th. We are completely jazzed about diving, as well as totally committed to being as safe as possible while diving. This site has already been very helpful and we look forward to continuing our 'education' as we move forward.
Right now we are planning more local (Catalina and other Channel Islands) dives to ramp up our skills, and looking for a GREAT place for our first Scuba vacation. Any recommendations are more than welcome.
There are plenty of places you can go for your first dive vacation...question is, what's your preference? Me, give me the caribean any day of the week and twice on weekends...Coz, Grand Cayman, Bonaire, P.R., oh yes....Florida!!!
My wife and I just completed our Open Water certification on Sunday the 8th.
Congratulations on your recent certification. I will be completing my certification the end of September and will enjoy my first warm water dives mid-Febraury in the waters of the Caribbean.
Hey!
Welcome to both ScubaBoard and Scuba Diving! It's great to have you. I don't know much about your area, but I'm sure tons of other people here do. If you have any questions feel free to PM me! Hope to see you around the forums, or better, under the waves.
(if you havent noticed, i am just posting these all after afraid of fish beacse she is the one fishing these up for me!!)
this board is great for finding diving opportunities in your area.... there are a lot of people around that area so i am sure you will have many firends eager to dive with you.
I remember that i was sooo depressed after my OW cert beacuse i couldnt get back in the water, and this board definately eased the pain.... if you still have any questions that didnt get answered during your OW cert, than they will certainly get answered here. all you have to do is drop a post. so jump right in!
Congrats on your certifications! If you decide to come to our part of the world, be sure to check out the Florida Conch Divers' forum. We'd love to have you dive with us.
Also, you might want to check out the New2Scuba and Basic Scuba Discussions forums - they're full of info for new divers.
