Hi all. Just checking in to introduce myself. My name is Don and I dive Monterey. I'm NAUI and PADI certified Rescue Diver. I mostly dive dry and recently started scootering. For anyone in the Bay Area looking for a weekend buddy, I setup a very specific newsgroup for Bay Area divers looking for buddies, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/montereydivebuddies Stop by and subscribe if you're in the area. It's very new, so the place is a bit empty so far, about 20 members.

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

Be sure to check out the NorCal section of our California Kelp Divers forum. You'll find plenty of buddies there.

Don't forget to fill out your profile and dive info, so that we can add context to your future posts. Also, once we know where you are geographically, you may find that you'll have a whole bunch of new dive buddies to choose from locally.

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.

Hi there! My name is Kayla, and I have been diving for over two years now! I think that you will be able to learn a lot here at ScubaBoard, and hopefully you will be able to post about some of your experiences as well. If you have any questions, please PM me. Otherwise, I hope to get to know you better around the boards!

Safe diving!

:sunny Hi there! My name is Matt. Welcome to Scuba Board! I came here looking for help with my diving dream. I’ve met a lot of nice divers and many helpful divers too. I think you will get the information you need from SB. I look forward to reading more of your posts about your diving adventures. If you’d like to chat, please PM me.
I am looking forward to seeing you some more around the boards!

Hi Don,

Welcome!

If you haven't done so already, you might also want to subscribe to ba_diving on yahoo...It is a group of regular Monterey divers...All are welcome.

Don,

Welcome from another San Jose based diver. I iwll check out your yahoo group when I get some time.

What LDS do you call home? (just curious) PODI is my home shop, but I spread my money around to several local shops.

Howdy!

I just want to join the others in welcoming you to SB. Hope to get to know you around the forums. I think you'll find our North Calf forum better for buddies, as you get all of SB with it!

Completing your Profile and seperately - keeping your Dive Info up to date helps in future diving discussions. PM me if I can help you learn your way around.

Hi Don,

I'm in the East Bay and dive Monterey too. Welcome to SB.
I think its a great place. Only been here a month and made
friends already. Learning stuff too, plus it's a great place to
trade, buy or sell gear.

Have fun and hope to see you underwater :bfish:
