Hi...
So glad to have found this board and its wealth of info. I'm new to scuba, just completing my open water dives here in the (chilly!) Northeast US. It will probably sound like newbie gushing, but I was just blown away the first time in the ocean this week -- the sense of being inside a completely different ecosystem felt like another planet. It's awesome. I'm hooked.

Cheers.

Howdy!

And welcome to SB - the biggest, the best, the fastest growing, and :D the friendliest!
If you'll click ScubaBoard.com above, you'll be taken to our long list of forums, a wealth of information and resources. At the bottom, be sure to notice the Local & Singles Dive Club forums.

BTW, the more experienced divers seem to enjoy " newbie gushing, but I was just blown away the first time in the ocean this week...", which is good. That's how they put up with us when we are brand new.

PM me if I can help you learn your way around; that is - click my username to the upper left, then follow the prompts to send me a "Personal Message." :thumb:

Hey John, welcome to the board. And guess what, that feeling does not go away no matter how many dives you do. There are lots of experiences waiting for you to happen which could literally take your breath away  Good luck and dive safe.

Welcome to SB John. I'm an RI diver too, glad to have more members around from little rhodey.

Good luck getting the cert...its friggin cold up here right now...you won't catch me in the local waters. :eyebrow:

If you don't mind the question, which dive shop are you going through?
