Hey there everyone. i was once an avid diver and am looking forward to getting back into the "life" of a diver. I have epilepsy and am having surgery soon that will most likely allow me to return to "normal" life; ie; driving, dating, working and of course DIVING!!!
:dazzler1:
I look forward to meeting some of you someday and sharing my experiences diving while I was in The Marine Corps.
Thanks,Seamus AKA TrueGreenMarine

Hey there Seamus!

I'm glad you found us. I definitely look forward to hearing about your experiences. I think you'll find lots of great stuff here...be sure to poke around. Find your local forum, and the forum for abyplace you'll be travelling. There are great gear sections and a gallery for underwater photos. Scubaboard rules! :)

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery from your surgery! See you in the water soon! :D

Again, welcome to scubaboard :D

Hi there Seamus aka TrueGreenMarine, welcome to Scubaboard. I was in the Corps also 1986-1990. I got my first taste of diving on Okinawa but it took me a long time to finally get certified.

Glad you've found the board and I wish you success at beating the epilepsy. My brother just started having seizures a year ago at 37. See you around the board.

Welcome to the board....Congrats.! on you life changing surgery!

Welcome there Seamus.

I hope the surgery goes well. You will enjoy getting back I'm sure.

Howdy and Semper Fi!

And welcome to SB - the biggest, the best, the fastest growing, and :D the friendliest!
If you'll click ScubaBoard.com above, you'll be taken to our long list of forums, a wealth of information and resources. At the bottom, be sure to notice the Local & Singles Dive Club forums.

It would help in future diving discussions if you'd complete your Profile with location - and separately - your Dive Info. You can use the Quick Links in the bar above for such changes. And sizing a photo for your profile or Avatar can be a challenge; I'm a fumbling amateur, but I get the job done, if you'd like any help?

PM me if I can help you learn your way around; that is - click my username to the upper left, then follow the prompts to send me a "Personal Message." :thumb:

ScubaBoard is a great place to get up to date and keep knowledgeable about diving while on forced surface intervals. I hope you soon begin cotributing your experiences to the body here.

STOCK MESSAGE
Hmm. Maybe.
This is a great place to meet people, talk about diving, and get information on just about any aspect of diving -or other subjects sometimes- that you can think of. Roaming through the forums is great help for me.
Now get wet with us and dive into the forums to ask questions, answer those that you can and even chat with folks about diving dreams and nightmares. ScubaBoard is a great place to spend your required Surface Intervals.
Again, Welcome to the greatest addiction!
It's so easy to forget the things that we love, but here at ScubaBoard, we're all doing our dead level best to maintain the highest level of SCUBA ADDICTION possible.
Please stay with us, interact, and keep your need to get wet alive!
When you post a question, be as sure as you can that it's in the right forum or you'll probably find it moved to where it can receive better attention.
The folks here are passionate about their diving, some about their specialty, so the reading can get very interesting, sometimes very hot.
Don't forget, if you haven't already done it, to fill out you profile as completely as reasonable, it'll save you being asked and having to repeat the information often.
Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the good wishes. I too started diving on the "rock". I was in from 89-93 myself. Made it through Desert Storm unscathed but was wounded in action in P.I. of all places. We were having a ball and Penatuba went up,(the volcano.) All hell broke loose after that and we had three of our Marines kidnapped by some unfriendlies. To make a long story short, couldn't see a foot in front of ya and we went in to get our guys out. I was shot through and through my stomach and into my hand. I was a Corpsman and the other Corpsman did CPR on me for 45 minutes. That's what started my seizures. Glad I'm alive and can't wait to dive again. I snorkel a bit.
By the way, what was your MOS?
Take care and thanks,
Seamus AKA TrueGreenMarine :crafty:
