    Hello from Cleveland

    Hello everyone.
I just signed up yesterday since I just found this site. I have been doing a ton of reading on Cozumel since I am going there this week. Never been there, but I can hardly wait. All I have seen here at home is snow and rain. Never gets warm enough to ride my motorcycle, and cold water diving is not my thing. Too bad for that because everday would be like heaven if it was.

I am actually going to Coz by myself, so if anyone is going to be there at the same time (March 10-17) let me know, I am always up for meeting fellow divers. I am pretty new diving, Aruba is the only place I have been so far. I had a trip paid for in Florida last Jan, but things happen and I had to cancel.

Another thing I would love to find out about is finding someone who wants to dive kinda local, maybe 2-3 hours away from Cleveland at the farthest. I really want to dive more and none of my friends are divers. I am interested in quarrys or anything else that has decent visibility. I have heard from some that Lake Erie is good, others swear they will never dive it again. I am willing to try almost anything once!

I look foward to being a member on here.

I've done the Coz thing by myself. If you go to a diving resort, you really get a chance to hook up with and meet fellow divers. Where are you staying and who are you diving with?

You're in luck. You are 2.5 hours from Gilboa quarry, which is one of the most popular quarries in the US. If you can't convince someone at your LDS to go with you just head out there one summer weekend. There will be pleny of divers you can hook up with and join.

Locally you have the Aqua Amigos Scuba Club. (http://www.aquaamigos.com/) Doing their social and diving events would be a great way to meet local divers.

If you'll click ScubaBoard.com above, you'll be taken to our long list of forums, a wealth of information and resources. At the bottom, be sure to notice the Local & Singles Dive Club forums.

I guess you're leaving the day I get there. Watch for me in the aiport and say Hi. I'll wear this hat, as everyone knows me with it. And try our cozumel forum.

PM me if I can help you learn your way around; that is - click my username to the upper left, then follow the prompts to send me a "Personal Message."

You can test the tanks you breathe or - dive on hope.
    Testing is safer...

Great news for vacation divers who cannot talk themselves into buying a personal CO tank tester!

    >> Rent one for a week or longer here <<
Now let's see more CO readings in your trip reports, ok...??

Hello from a former Cleveland native...

Plenty of dive spots in Ohio...The great lakes, White Star quarry, Portage quarry & Gilboa to name a few. Check out the Great Lake Wreck Crew forum..we're meeting at Gilboa in mid April for a get together & dive. Feel free to drop in...we'll be there

Hello ScubaTwo, or should I say 1of2. I would be happy to meet up and go to the quarry and I would be happy to me the two of you. I will let everyone know how my coz trip goes.
Thanks to everyone here for welcoming me and I will definitely say Hi or howdy DandyDon. If Hotel Cozumel has wifi, I will still be able to post here or in another forum on my pda. So things will be short, but good I hope, guess I should start packing, so see everyone later.
