i have dove for 22 years and yet got certified for nitrox and dolphin use only this month. my main motive was to get closer to fish for good shots.
although i grew up in san franscisco, ca, i have lived in tokyo for the last 12 years. this is a very stimulating country in terms of a great variety of fish that you see in different seasons! it is also unbelievable that you can ice-dive in shiretoko and enjoy tropical coral reef in okinawa, BOTH IN THE SAME MONTH!
i'm leaving for ishigaki in a few days and planning to dive with dolphin. i bet i will be the first diver using dolphin there. as they have no facility in which nitrox is charged, i had to ship my nitrox tank from tokyo. if i can get so close to a sailfin shrimp goby that i can touch it, my effort is worthwhile.

In a study, scientists report that drinking beer can be good for the liver. I'm sorry, did I say "scientists"?
I meant "Irish people."
thank you moon wrasse, scott riemer, scubajoe, matt the wonder boy, murphdivers 286, and lil's irish temper. i'm impressed with a variety of locations where the members live, from the west coast to the east coast of the US. i live in japan now so that i want to let you know about diving status, tech diving in particular, in this country.
i have got one more thing to say. i booked for live-aboard in palau in september and isla del coco in april next year. let me hear from you guys about these two destinations.
