Actually considering some of the fantastic shots Fish is known for, I thought these original entries were his and others way of taking the mickey. Either way, they have now become "serious" entries and we have a choice to make. Like several of the others, I have to say I like the feeling of community in Tech's. Love ya Fish but you have to agree your design was not even started in the spirit of what Invasion is about.
I don't know what taking the mickey means, but the shirt with the Duane tower was done as a serious entry. As there was no set theme, I went with what I felt. When I think about diving in the Keys, I think about the Duane.
Everyone has the right to pick which shirt they like best, but I don't think that it's fair to say that it was not done as a serious entry.
Howard - Can we have a run off between the top two designs? The font sizes can change to fit on the real t-shirts - right?

I want to know if all of the people who have voted will actually BUY this shirt - once made. Because SB is going to have these printed, and people are supposed to buy them. I really don't want to print a shirt that people aren't going to buy, and be stuck with 100 t-shirts that say invade the keys 2008 that I'll have forever and ever.
Should we have a public poll? Would that change the outcome? Would those who aren't going to invasion still vote if everyone could see the results?

Is it too late to have people register for the T-shirt the way we registered for dives and accomodations (by modifying the registration system)? If not, chalk it up to experience, and have people register for the T-shirt next year.
I think there is still time to do this with online registration...
And when a person registers, they specify (in Men's sizes) XS,S,M,L,XL,XXL,3XL,etc.

Howard - Is there a deadline to register for the Invasion? From what I've read, the deadline is the day of the Invasion. I haven't registered yet because, although I'm pretty sure I'll be attending, I'm not positive the dates will work out. I'm aware that the cool locations (I love diving on the Eagle) are filling up but other life obligations get in the way sometimes. If the Invasion deadline is after the the contest deadline, how can you limit the contest to those just registered at this time? Right now we are voting on the design, not on the number of t-shirts.

While we will be charging people for invasion on June 15th, that doesn't mean that you still can't decide to come even after that or even the day before (IF THERE'S AVAILABLE SPACE)
Right now, as boats are filling up... we're adding more. We still have availability for all days, just not all dives at this point.
My statement about people voting who aren't going - wasn't referring to you. I think those people know who they are.

It doesn't say anywhere in the OP that it was only for the people going to vote on...It just said to vote. Perhaps it could have been stated more clearly. It is a Scubaboard event, why not let all vote? I voted for C, I don't know either designer involved and I thought it was the best overall for a global event.

While it didn't state specifically any rules for voting. Out of consideration for the fact that we're selling these shirts to members who are attending Invasion - I would hope that people would vote because they like the design, and not one designer over another.
Fish are just pixels waiting to happen.
