Invade the KeysA place for information, official announcements, and for SB'ers to discuss and plan ScubaBoard's largest annual dive event: Invade the Keys! Users can feel free to post ride share, roommates wanted, or buddies wanted posts in this forum as well. As long as it pertains to Invade the Keys, and it's participating dive operations, hotels, and events, it's all good!
My folks are going to be HEART BROKEN that I am going to be at ITK instead of Wisconsin . . . whooooo hoooooooo !!!!

The dates are set, and the rest of the important information will be posted soon.
For those of you who might be new to ITK, here's the scoop.
1) Check back here in the ITK forum for news and info on the events, dives, and participating hotels for SB's single largest scuba event of the year!
2) SB makes special group arrangements with the hotels and dive operations, so don't call the dive shops or hotels directly.
3) We have an online reservation system for booking everything! Once the details are finalized, then we'll make the reservations available online. You can book your hotels, parties, and diving all quickly and easily....
If there's any questions PLEASE post threads, rather than send PM's so that other people can see the answers as well.
My days are already booked off. See you there this year Brian.

Hey. If any of you are looking for any last-minute gift ideas for me, I have one. I'd like Frank Shirley, my boss, right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people and I want him brought right here, with a big ribbon on his head, and I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, fore-fleshing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, ****less, hopeless, heartless, fat-***, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey **** he is. Hallelujah. Holy ****. Where's the Advil?
Put the History of Diving Museum on your itinerary
THe History of Diving Museum welcomes all of the ScubaBoard folks to visit the museum anytime - but make sure you put us on your ITK itinerary. We are located at MM83 in Islamorada. Check out our SB sub-forum under Vintage Diving: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/history-diving-museum/
The Good: I just got my flights booked! (Airline miles rock!!!)
The Bad: That meant I'll be flying into MIA. MIA: What seems to happen to a lot of luggage at that airport!
The Ugly: Its still 201 days away, according to the online reservation system.
When this gets a little closer (sigh) maybe we can figure out a way for the ITK crew to share flight info, for those of us who might want to share a rental car.

The ITK forum is good for posting ride shares, etc. MIA is also closer to the Keys than any other airport.
Thanks, even though FLL is actually farther away I much prefer it to MIA, for example the rental cars are easier at FLL (on site). In the end, I've never quite convinced myself that actually getting my luggage and the rental car and getting out of MIA is any faster, despite being closer... It helps that I have a SunPass, too.
I do tend to be just a little more careful about what goes into checked luggage (long story). Oh well, the airline miles work for Miami Int'l so that's where I'm flying in to! W00t!
Really looking forward to ITK 2009!
