Hi All,

I am going to be in Japan for 10 days this November, its early Autumn I think but I would like to get at least a couple of dives in while I am there.

Plan is to land in Osaka and travel around for the 10 days do as many of the usual tourist spots that we can and then back to Osaka. What I would like is to try and identify what is the best must dive spot (preferably close to bullet train lines) as in all honesty I will probably only get 1 day to dive so I want to try and make memorable (any good wreck sites?). Also if you can recommend a good local dive shop I would appreciate it.

I will do all the normal internet searches myself but I always find first hand knowledge is generally better than any google search.....

Cheers
Paul

OK, well I guess that not many here have done much diving in Japan.

Not many local divers check this website every day...

I am unfamiliar with dive sites in Kansai (Osaka area) but can get you in touch with divers. If you have Facebook, look for a group called Kansai divers

Coming to my side (Tokyo) will only make it colder and my advise would be to go to Okinawa but that is only possible with flights.

I live in the Kansai area. I have gone diving in Wakayama near Osaka, Maiko Beach under the Akashi Kaikyō suspension bridge in Kobe and Atami and Osezaki on the Izu peninsula near Tokyo. I don't think any meet your requirements of "best must dive spot". I enjoyed all the dives and saw some interesting fish but the water is cool and the visibility wasn't great. It's still better than the quarries I used to train in and most of the Caribbean diving I've done lately.

Look at Kansai divers on
