    Yes, and what happened to promoting our sport? I don't like the man's political stand but regardless, another diver is good for all of us.
    Diving is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it.

    I should have thrown in, if he believes in global warming, he needs to see the Blue Dolphin or the Red Eye. (both are in 42 degree water for those of you that haven't been there)

    per DR Bill;

    "Having been a classmate of Al Gore's at Harvard, I can attest to the fact that he was not unapproachable then. I had a close friend who went to high school with him at St. Albans and he agreed. Of course that was in his youth. I didn't see him again until our class' 25th college reunion where he and Tipper poked fun at themselves during our skit night by playing on his reputation as a "stiff" character."

    In every college and university there are ones for what ever reason remain insulated from the other students, but they were still student and fellow classmates.

    Since you were a Harvard class mate of Al Gore, why don't you write him a note personally congratulating him on becoming a member of the diving world and invite the former VP Gore to post on gobal warming on this board?

    Or at least invite him for a dive at the Catalina Dive park?

    I totally agree!

    We need some one with national and international visability to promote recreational diving ..

    I never accepted his political stand but he is now one of us so let's maximize his involvement in the sport

    Never found Gore to be unapproachable, nor his roommate (Tommy Lee Jones). The only reason we knew who Al was back then was that his father was an anti-Vietnam War Senator.

    And I have extended an invitation to the V.P. to join me at Casino Point via his daughter Karenna.
