Several weeks ago I ordered a pair of HOG adjustable second stages from an online dealer. Everyone seemed to be out of them then, but I was informed by this dealer that they should be in within a week or so. Several weeks went by and the second stages had yet to arrive from overseas. I contacted Chris Richardson at HOG to see if he knew when they might come in. He said that due to some unexpected delays, they weren't going to be in until last week. I let him know that I needed them for some dives this past weekend. He said it'd be tight, but that if they got in by Thursday, he would ship them directly to me overnight mail on his own dime. Got home Friday to find both regs waiting. They performed perfectly and the dives were saved.
While I was a bit frustrated that they didn't arrive when I was originally told they would, when it came down to it, HOG was able to get them to me when I needed them. I certainly didn't expect the manufacturer to overnight me an order that probably cost them more to ship than they made in profits, but this service along with a nice product will certainly translate into more sales from me.
Yeah, Chris is OK in my book too.
The staff bent over backwards to help me with a problem that turned out to be an oversight on my part.
I was getting a saltwater mist with each breath...After several test dives I was ready to send them back and the folks at HOG were ready to foot the bill for shipping.
While disassmebling them one last time looking for anything that might be the culprit, I found small hole in the mouthpiece.
A HOLE IN THE MOUTHPIECE!!!
I swapped out the stock mouthpiece for a Seacure, did a few more test dives and haven't had a problem since.
I've been diving those same regs for over a year and I love them.
I hated retiring my old ScubaPro 109's but the HOG 2nd's are sooo light and breathe so much better in comparison.
