    props to ScubaBoard ...

I'm sitting at the airport in Panama City ... wrapping up an 8-day trip to Florida ... and thinking how much of an impact ScubaBoard had on this trip.

I came down here to take a sidemount class ... with an instructor I met on ScubaBoard (Dive-aholic). While I was here, I dived with people I met on ScubaBoard (Phreatic Fanatic and Wayward Son). I socialized with people I met on ScubaBoard (ScubaSam and Dry Diver). I went to a conference and got introduced to still other people I met on ScubaBoard (FFdiver, Kevin Carlisle and SuperBugMan).

Every single day, every single dive ... every single event ... on this trip was influenced by my connection to ScubaBoard.

... and every single one of those folks was somebody I would be happy to hang out with ... what a great community we have here ...

Not everyone who reads SB is looking to learn how best to use their new snorkel. Some are here just hoping to get the chance to tell someone else exactly what they can do with their new snorkel. While others are trying to sell their old snorkel. (gypsyjim)

I did six days of diving in the caves of Marianna, and one day off a boat out of Panama City. To my concern, all the dives were fabulous. I like the caves out here better than the ones in the High Springs/Luraville area, and my two dives today off a couple local Panama City wrecks were fabulous. Seas were flat, there was little current, vis was 25-30 feet, and we found some really cool stuff including a frogfish, octopus, some toadfish, goliath grouper, and at one point I was completely immersed in a massive school of some sort of small fish I couldn't identify.

The whole trip couldn't have gone much better than it did ...
