Where to stay and dive in St. Lucia?

I just booked an Esaver to St. Lucia for July . I would like to stay at a place that is reasonable but nice and close to a good dive op. Someone suggested Sandals but I am single so I don't think they will let me stay there (couples only).

All inclusive would be nice but not essential. I am looking for something around $150 per night. Anyone have a good knowledge of this island?

you might try the Anse Chastanet resort, and Scuba St. Lucia as a dive op. I'm not sure what kind of deals you can get at the resort, since I've only been to St. Lucia as a cruise passenger. However, I do know that the resort is close to the Petons, and the Scuba St. Lucia dive op is right there at the resort. We had a great experience diving with them, and the coral was amazing. The dive sites we went to were literally just a few yards off-shore.

Anse Chastanet isn't a cheap place, it will be more than $150.

After doing some research last night I realized that St. Lucia wasn't going to be in my budget. I can do Cozumel for a week for probably about half the price. Plus I know the diving in Coz is great!

Good call. Coz is terrific. Eight of us stayed at the Reef Club last August, did some wonderful dives. I do not "recommend" the Reef Club EXCEPT we got $121/nt/both of us all-inclusive, on Expedia I think. It's not fabulous but it is affordable.

DID have some wonderful meals in town, PM me for details. Plus everybody out here will jump in on a Coz question... azzler1:

Having dived both I can say from a purely diving perspective Cozumel is markedly better. Much more convenient and cheaper to get to as well.
So I got a tattoo of a turtle on my arm and a woman on the dive boat said "Oooh thats a nice tattoo. Do you like turtles?"
