Halcyon 3' SMB, closed circuit or oral-inflate only?

What's the exact difference? I'm diving wet now, but probably dry in a year. If the closed circuit can be orally inflated anyway (I read it could be) than I should probably get that. Do they both have an over-pressure relief?

Reviving this just for the sake of answering the question for other's benefits.
It appears that the Halcyon 1m Diver's Alert Marker comes in 2 versions.

The Oral-inflate only (roughly $10 less) does NOT have a pressure-relief valve. It is meant for surface deployment only and really is a safety sausage.

The Closed-circuit is a true SMB and has an pressure-relief valve. This version comes in orange and yellow and can be deployed at depth.

I have the closed circuit version which to me is more useful as it can be sent up at depth, which among other reasons, is very important if surfacing anywhere there may be boat traffic.

    just noticed date of post...oops
