We just got back from an epic trip with' The Spirit of Freedom' to Far North Queensland.

We have done two previous trips on the same boat this year, and both have been great, so we decided to book again. They only run the trip once a year and it invlolves a lot of exploratory diving and diving of remote areas, so it really is off the beaten track.

We flew into Cairns and then got a charter flight up ot Lockhart river, where we met the boat. It had just completed the Northern leg of the trip from Cairns. We were to sail the southern leg, from Lockhart to Carins.

We joined the boat on Monday evening and arrived back in Cairns the following Monday morning. I'm not going to list all of the 28 dives that we did, but let's just say we saw some awesome stuff. Pristine corals, sinkholes, sharks, turtles, manta rays, eagle rays, and reefs that were like swimming in fish soup. Walls, bommies ,pinnacles, crazy drift dives and 'no current' cruisy dives. Epic stuff.

The boat itself is a joy to be on. Steel hull and stable as can be. Comfortable cabins, beautiful and plentiful food and an amazing, fun -loving crew, who work incredilbly hard to ensure that everyone has a wonderful time. From the first night 'welcome' tapas and drinks, to the last night bbq -we loved every second.

Saving up for trip number 4 now....
