To some the ocean is just salt

    holy water.

    Light arms

What did you guys use for your video light arms?

I was going to buy some Ultralights, but the prices are insane for what it is. I could easily make the arms with PVC, delrin rods, polycarb, etc. They would most likely be stationary, but would get the job done.

    Just looking for some ideas.

Canisters is kind of the direction I'm leaning.
    Wow cheap too!
What did you use to mount the light heads to the tubes.

I use some screws at both end of the loc-line as my lightheads have threads .

Have a look to my video configuration :

    Thanks Scubacastor,
That site http://www.diveoz.com.au/diy/read_story.asp?story=4 is a little more illustrated. I have already ordered my arm parts, and using Ikelite housings on both video and still. Just need to assemble and figure how to attach the light head. I'm using a Niterider HID dimpled diffuser so its really small but the head is not cylinder shaped. Would like it to look something like the photo below.

I think a good start is a screw secured at the end of the loc-line. If you have a screw you can then attach whatever you want to the screw. At a time, I was thinking about using some resins to lock a piece of plastic. This plastic would have served to attach my sea&sea strobe on my digicam housing but I got a good deal on an used aluminium arm from sea&sea.

Hi guys. I am really interested in this setup. I looked at the website www.modularhose.com and there are 4 sizes from 1/4 to 2.5 inch loc-line hoses.

Someone mentioned that big lights will be too heavy. Do you think the 3/4 inch can hold up a UK light canon?

    Thanks

In fact, the problem is not really the weight in air but the apparent weight in water. In fact, you can fill the interior of the tube with wires or something rigid to get a more resistant locline tube. Anyway, the answer seems to be definitely yes if you have a look at the bottom of the second page of this linked document:
