i have to go to Sing next week too, i hate Sing hotels!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they all cost an arm and a leg. Last time i stayed in a backpackers, 40 a night and was the worst thing i have ever been to...
Next up is the hooker type places like Hotel 81. still around 60 a night..
Seems the only decent hotels are at least 100 a night.. silly...
my post can be moved to whine and cheeze
Sorry, have to be a little patriotic here... I think some of the money goes to the feeling of security n safety, when u r in S'pore... Maybe there r lots of cheap places to stay at in other countries but would u feel safe there? Even hooker Hotel 81 is clean, isn't it? To be more comfortable, keep away from Geylang area (red light district). There are Hotel 81 in Chinatown area!
My hubby had to pay USD150 for a hotel 1.5hrs from downtown Mumbai... That is an arm & a leg...
I am also looking. I have a 2 night stopover on my way to Manado.
Last time i spent 3 nights in a nice hotel in Scotts rd. It cost more than my weeks diving in Bunaken!!
I am also looking to get my Mares Abyss Reg serviced. Any idea where & how long this norrmally takes(hrs/days?). This is the 1st time i am getting it serviced.
After extensively pouring over TripAdvisor reviews and various internet booking sites, I went with bidding on Priceline and got The Holiday Inn Riverside at $100 ($126 with all the added doodad fees) Doesn't seem to be located in the funnest part of town but reviewers on TripAdvisor love it.

I was almost booked in at the YMCA for $177 Sing a night, but a friend of a friend allowed use of an apartment instead. Nice!
