Hi. I'll be arriving in Penang late on July 4 and leaving early on July 8, so I'll be there for three full days. I haven't read/heard much that is inspiring about the diving off of Penang. And I'm not sure if this is even a good time of year.
Is it worth bringing my regulator/computer and mask/snorkel? Or should I just chill out by the pool and enjoy the food?
You can try Pulau Payar. There are companies who organize trips which leave from Penang itself. I don't really know what it's like having not been there before. It's kinda touristy from what I hear but you might just want to get wet while you're there. Look it up I suppose. I've seen lots of into by just googling it. But you need to see whether it's feasible for such a short stay. Diving off Penang itself? I don't think you wanna do that. Really. But Filan's right. Enjoy the food!
