    Mares Icon HD

Hello Mares team, I have a question about your Icon HD, I know that you will have available soon air integration for the icon hd and that it is nitrox ready witch is great but will it stop there or do you plan to upgrade software to accept trimix and or heliox in the future, my reason for asking is that the uwatec galileo sol will as i understand upgrade to be trimix compatible. I intend to buy a new dive computer soon and was wondering how much the icon HD will grow with me as i progress in my diving.

    Thanks for you info

    Joao,

You present a good question. The answer in short is the Icon HD has the capacity for "Firmware" upgrades in the future. These will be available through the Mares website as they are developed.
As of today, I can't tell you if trimix or heliox is in the cards, although I wouldn't be surprised if we offer it at a later date. Sorry to not have a specific answer, but our computer engineers are keeping future development under tight wraps.

    Thanks for asking!

Just bought an Icon HD and it refuses to connect to my PC. Otherwise, it seems to be working OK. I have the beta software installed and when connected, the Icon charges, but it doesn't data-connect. Help!

as long as you have connected it up in the correct sequence, there shouldn't really be a problem......try again, open the program, and try to input your details into the 'info' section.....menu/computer/info....I think......I also thought nothing was happening, but in fact it was me that wasn't doing anything in the program.......I hope that makes sense, 'cos it does in my head!

Thanks for the reply, but the issue is that Windows doesn't recognize that the Icon has been connected via USB. Therefore, even with the Icon connected to the PC and charging via the USB cable, the Dive Manager program's "Computer" menus are unavailable (grayed out). There is also no "USB" screen on the Icon when connected in this manner, so no part of the system (Icon or PC) thinks that there is a data connection in progress.

GadgeTT, Have you taken some time and surfed the Mares PC / Dive Computer assistance website? I think you will either find your answer here Software Mares Support or you can post your question. I just read about an issue with Windows 7 and Drak interface. They posted a step by step solution IRIS and DRAK does not work on Windows 7 . I hope this helps. Let me know if your issue has been resolved.

    Thanks,

I have the same problem .... my PC does not recognize the Icon HD .... missing USBSerial driver.

BTW, the Support Site does not support - yet - the ICON HD.

Anyway .... I sent an email - in Italian - to my contact at Mares.
I will let you know as soon as I hear from him.

I'm really considering this computer. Your web site states that air integration is "coming" this spring. Will there be an additional fee for the software update and how much will the transmitter(s) cost? Also, when will we be able to interact with an online demo of how the air integration will function? Your current demo is fantastic but I'd like to be able to read the manual as well. Is it downloadable? (I couldn't find it)

Thanks in advance and sorry for the thread hijack.

OK ... thanks to Marco from Mares Italy I was able to solve the problem ....

The "Dive Organizer" software that comes with the Icon HD is still in beta .... so it needs some help
You need to manually install the USB driver for the Icon.
To do so, first locate the file usbser-mares.inf (in my case it was in the default directory C:\Program Files\Mares\DiveOrganizer\Drivers .... then MANUALLY ADD A NEW HARDWARE to your machine .... when prompted for a driver, point the OS to the file above .....

In case you guys wonder what we are doing with the Icon HD ...... we are converting our 3D maps of real dive sites for the Icon
