I have a book by Jeremy Staford called "Reef". It has allot of info w/marine biology diagrams and facts.

Do you want a coffee table book, an introductory-level text for budding biologists, or something that's specific for certain marine habitats (i.e. kelp forests)?

    There's a lot of choices.

The author of the Reef book has another f, and a hyphen and some other stuff in his name: Jeremy Stafford-Deitsch.

I like the Encyclopedia of Aquatic Life edited by Keith Banister & Andrew Campbell, although it covers only animal life.

Marine Biology by Jeffery S. Levington or
Marine Biology: An ecological approach by James W. Nybakken

Both are used as introductory texts for undergraduate courses, both are good, though I prefer the one by Levington. It is a university text, but as I said it is introductory, so it is not any more technical/complicated than your average dive manual. One of them comes with a CD-ROM, but not sure which.

    enjoy
