I'm 26 years old and received my C-card from NAUI last April. I consider myself a commited "land mammal" and got into SCUBA diving because my boyfriend made it pretty clear that his ideal partner would be his dive buddy as well. However, once I tried it I loved it! I've always been slighty water-phobic and terrified of drowning. I figure then that SCUBA is the perfect hobby as I get to bring my air with me to the bottom of the ocean.
