  1. I live in the "Midcoast" area. In a town named Thomaston. There are no dive charters in my area. We do guided shore dives at a couple of local sites. I teach scuba lessons for Johnson's Sporting Goods. They have stores in Portland, Brunswick, and Rockland, and all are dive shops with rental gear and fills. There are lots of good shore diving sites around Maine. All the wreck diving we do is from ours and friends private boats. We've been wanting a charter boat for a while, and I actually just completed a class to get my 100 ton capt's license, so hopefully a boat is in the future. From June-oct a rental wetsuit would be fine, any other months I would bring a drysuit. What part of maine are you thinking of visiting?
