Hello,
I was writing to Bob Bailey regarding diving questions and he told me that I should try to email you...so I do..
I am a beginner in scuba diving. I am learning with Padi, since it is what I could find locally. I live on Salt Spring island, BC. I am now half done with the advanced course. My main concern is that, even thought I dont know much about diving yet, I am sure the course I get is not good enough. I dont know if I must blame it on a poor instructor, or on Padi itself. But I just find it too easy, and not good enough to allow me to feel safe diving around here. Diving here is way more technical than anything I ever done so far in warm water. I would never dive here with someone who has just passed his OW training, even thought it s supposed to be possible and allowed. To be clear, I am very frustrated with the courses I did so far. I went to 3 different dive stores, get 3 different instructors , always I end up discouraged. And if I had plenty of dives behind me, I am sure that I would be even more frustrated knowing what I was not taught...do I amke any sense? I love diving and I really want to learn...more! Thats what I was talking about with Bob Brailey who knows you either personally or from reputation, I am not sure. He told me that you were teaching diving on Vancouver island, and that you were one of the best!
So, I was just wondering if it is the case (that you teach on Vancouver island...) and if so, where you are, and more important, if maybe you could teach me something?
Thank you for your answer,
Marielle
