I was talked into going on a dive trip with some friends last year. There happen to be a spot open in the Open Water Course. So, I gave up my week of laying on the beach for an intense week of mornings in the water, afternoons gathered around for lectures and evenings reading so that I could understand what would be taught the next day (I am an American, that speaks English and German with a Dutch group of divers, haha). I ended up loving the whole experience and immediately came home to sign up for the AOW course. I have been diving a small handful of times since then, due to lack of diving buddy and living no where near any clubs. I'll be looking for any other divers who want to hook up and dive as often as possible :-). I would like to take my EFR and Rescue courses before the end of the year and eventually complete my Dive Master. I am also considering working up to Instructor. But, I got to get those dives logged!!!
