Originally certified to dive in Negril Jamaica (PADI), I quickly caught the diving bug and began literally immersing myself in SCUBA. Working my way through the recreational ranks, with a technical detour or two; I earned everything from underwater navigation to Ice Diving! I first became a Divemaster in 2003 assisting with classes @ a local dive shop and am currently a YSCUBA Silver Instructor, CMAS Instructor, and Scuba Diving International Instructor. In addition, I hold instructor ratings from the Divers Alert Network, American Heart Association, SeaSigns, and teach the YSCUBA & TDI NITROX courses. I also hold certifications in "Visual Inspection Procedures", "Oxygen Service Technician", and "NITROX Gas Blender" from Technical Diving International, and was certified as an equipment service technician by Airtech SCUBA Services.
Now, a little about why I want to share diving with you.
Diving for me has been more than addictive, it has been life altering. You find yourself literally living an adventure at times. Diving shipwrecks in the graveyard of the Atlantic or even the Great Lakes, seeing first hand; breathtaking coral reefs, artifact collecting and fossil hunting, and even diving beneath an ice sheet. Curious, my wife often tells me she notices I breath only through my mouth while asleep. That's because I'm dreaming of diving!
Diving is all about self improvement. Through continuing education courses, you find yourself learning more about yourself and the world around you than you ever thought possible. Become a junior archeologist preserving and researching the artifacts you recover from a shipwreck in the Atlantic. Learn more about anatomy and physiology than you thought you could by participating in continuing education courses in basic life support and dive medicine. Become a junior paleontologist fossil hunting in the Cooper River SC. Next thing ya know you'll be taking a boater safety course or doing a clean-up at your local state park. After all, we see first hand; the health of our environment and quickly become advocates for wildlife and naturally want to protect what we've fallen in love with. The list goes on and on...
You know how to tell your in the room with a diver? Wait a minute and they'll tell ya.
Dive into another world...
